Creating a scrapbook for your children is a wonderful way to preserve all of  their special memories and a great way to show how much ya love 'em too!

ABC Scrapbooking

Also, consider making an alphabet memory book for your child.  Include a photo of a favorite memory, person, place, or thing and use for each letter of the alphabet.  IE:  for the letter "D" could be a photo of dad, and write in "D" is for daddy.  
 Your child feels so special when they receive this!
  

           "D" is for Daddy page                   "A" is for Apple, Ants, and Aunts page

"K" is for Kites, and Kids page

I have also made ABC scrapbooks to remember special occasions, such as, "Sesame Street Live", or "Our trip to Walt Disney World".

Use photos, momentos, die cuts, and stickers to designate each letter.
Use alphabet stickers, rubber stamps, and rub ons for the actual letter on each page.
It's best to create an alphabet book using a smaller album (kid sized).  Here are some other items that would work great:

You could make one for a child's birthday, kindergarten graduation, vacation, Christmas, just before Winter to remind them of winter fun to come, just before summer, to remind them of summertime fun to come... etc... 
Another fun idea to keep kids busy this summer, too...  let them create their own!  Keep scrapbooking items on hand in a plastic storage container for when they have some photos that they would like to get creative with!
