You can also easily make your own
tags. All of the tags below were made using textured cardstock. You
can cut with a paper trimmer, templates, or even a large tag-shaped paper
punch.

Embellish your tags anyway you like. Use
cardstock and patterned paper, different textures, fibers and ribbon, slide
mounts, brads, buttons, eyelets, metal letters and words, mini envelopes, clips,
charms, rubber stamping, stickers, diecuts, silk flowers, stencils...the list
goes on and on...
Most tags have a small hole at the top for stringing
ribbon, fibers, etc... You can embellish this with eyelets (click here
to see how to set eyelets), store-bought reinforcements, or just a small square
of paper with the same hole cut. (see photo above) You can use a simple
paper punch from an office supply store for this.
Fibers to consider for hanging your tags:
ribbon
lace
jute
twine
raffia
yarn
"fun fur"

Many elements were used to embellish this tag that can be used for a heritage
album.
First we cut a piece of black textured cardstock in a tag shape, using a
Fisker's paper trimmer. Next, we did the same a tiny bit smaller on a pale blue
piece of textured cardstock. We stamped the background with an antique clock
rubber stamp. Edged the tag with Bazzill Bazzinks. We then matted the pale
blue tag onto the black tag. Next, we added tiny holes along the top with
an Xacto craft knife. (see brads section).
We strung narrow ribbon through each tiny hole (again using Xacto knife to pry
through the hole.) Tied at the top, and added a tiny black brad in each hole.
On a leftover piece of the pale blue cardstock, we tore the edges and used
alphabet stamps to stamp "timeless". Adhered to tag. Next,
added mini vellum envelope from Nostagiques. Tied another ribbon around the
front with a key charm tied on.
